26th September to 10th October, there is a ALS Ice Bucket Challenge and Fair going in Second Life. The fair has some of the best designers in SL and proceeds go to ALSA. For those of you who don't know what ALS is, Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis
(ALS), often referred to as "Lou Gehrig's Disease," is a progressive
neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the
spinal cord. Motor neurons reach from the brain to the spinal cord and from the
spinal cord to the muscles throughout the body. The progressive
degeneration of the motor neurons in ALS eventually leads to their
death. When the motor neurons die, the ability of the brain to initiate
and control muscle movement is lost. With voluntary muscle action
progressively affected, patients in the later stages of the disease may
become totally paralyzed. If you want to learn more, go to the ALSA website.
I visited the fair and grabbed some gorgeous items to show you. This dress is from Velvet Whip. It's mesh and comes with appliers for Lolas Tango. It comes with 3 different skirt options, the red with apron that I am wearing, a plain red skirt or plain white skirt. The shoes are included.
Dress: Giselle(Red) - Velvet Whip(180L)
This adorable necklace I'm wearing is from Kitty Moon. It is the Ice Bucket(with ice cubes in it) that we use in the Ice Bucket Challenges. It is absolutely gorgeous and perfect for the theme.
Necklace: ALS Ice Bucket Pendant - Kitty Moon(100L)
